Four (4) IMPORTANT things to mention.

  • Band Jackets: Band Jacket Order Deadline is 11:59PM TODAY THUR., SEPT. 12TH

  • Band & Auxiliary Booster Meeting & Disney Kickoff Meeting: Band Booster & Disney Kickoff Meeting is Monday, Sept 16th at 7PM in the Cafeteria (not Wed, Sept 18th in the Library as previously published)

  • THS PSO Board Members Wanted: The Tigard High School Parent Support Organization needs board members in order to remain viable. They MUST HAVE a Secretary and also have an opening for Vice President.

Band & Auxiliary Booster Meeting & Disney Kickoff Meeting:

Mon, Sept 16th @ 7PM in the Cafeteria

Booster Meeting are usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month but due to Back to School Night being scheduled on Wed, Sept 18th we rescheduled our meeting for Mon, Sept 16th. We’ll spend a few minutes on regular Booster business and then dedicate the remainder of the meeting to info about the Disney Trip. $50 Disney Trip Deposit to reserve your spot is due Friday, Sept 23rd. All trip and fee payments are payable to the Tigard High Band Boosters.

THS PSO Board Members Wanted:

The PSO is currently, desperately in need of a person to fill their Secretary position, there is also a lesser need to fill a Vice President position. In addition to being more involved in the school, it would not hurt to have a Band Booster parent on the THS PSO Board. Please contact Cathy Gadbury at shasty2@frontier.com if interested. All parents are encouraged to attend the PSO meetings which occur at 4PM the second Wednesday of the month in the main office with the Principal. Throughout the year there will be some PSO meetings where the PSO votes on items that affect our programs. We’ll keep you informed about those.

Requirements:

  • Has a student enrolled in Tigard High for part or all of the PSO membership year.
  • Able to attend most PSO Meetings every second Wednesday of the month at 4PM in the main office.
  • Takes meeting minutes, types them up for review and presents the minutes for approval at the subsequent meeting.

The PSO is made up of all parents & guardians of student enrolled in Tigard High. The Board is the governing body of this 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. The THSPSO’s main functions are:

  • Parent/Guardian representation within the school
  • Distribute funds earned throughout the year from fundraising and grants to support the academic needs of teachers & students, sports, clubs, choir, band and orchestra and more.
  • Staff Appreciation

Can & Bottle Drive Fundraiser:

Our Can & Bottle Drive is a 3 Part Process

1) Flyer Distribution to Tigard Neighborhoods – Mon, Sept 23 – Fri, Sept 27 After School, multiple shifts and a very critical part of our drive!

SIGN UP SHEETS FOR FLYER DISTRIBUTION ARE HANGING ON THE WALL OPOSITE IRVING’S OFFICE. Students get together and form teams of 3-4 and then find an adult driver to take the students to their route. There are a few routes within walking distance of THS. It is up to the students to coordinate when they are going to do the flyers and who is driving them. Flyer Packets can be picked up at 3:15PM in the band room on MON, TUE, WED, or THU starting Sept 23rd! Please note that it will take a group of 4 students about 2-3 hours to paper a neighborhood. Please plan accordingly and it goes a lot smoother and faster with a parent helping! They are required to finish the ENTIRE route no later than 6:00 pm on Friday but sooner is better!

2. Pick-up and sort the donated cans and bottles into three groups; cans, plastic, and glass. September 28th at Tigard High School from 9AM – 3PM, multiple shifts!

We need students and adults for pickup and sorting all day long.

3. (Adults only) Deliver and unload the sorted donations at the Oregon Bottle Redemption Center in NW Portland the week following the drive. Monday Sept 30th, 2019 at 10:30AM.
